Olivier produced this champagne from a vineyard where the chalk is very close to the surface and there are big chunks of flint. It’s made 60% from the 2012 vintage and a much larger 40% reserve wines from 2009 to 2011 (2012 was a very small harvest and so Olivier had to lean very heavily on the reserve wines he had been building up), and was disgorged with a 1.7g/l dosage in Feb 2016. It was aged in three to six year old barrels during its initial 12 months élevage, and has more weight than Agrapart’s NVs and is rich and stylish, with a notably saline, mineral undertone to the very precise citrus fruits. For drinking now to 2019.
