Bérèche et FilsVallée de la Marne Extra Brut (£41.50)

Grower producer Raphael Bérèche is a founder member of thetrailblazing Terre et Vins group. Thisexpressive, savoury, concentrated cuvée made from 100% Pinot Meunier grown nearthe winery in the village of Ludes, shows what can be done with the varietywhen carefully farmed using low-yielding old vines.

Marguet Père et FilsAmboniacus 2009 Grand Cru Extra Brut (£41.50)

Benôit Marguet is one of the most exciting young grower/négociantproducers in Champagne. Based in thegrand cru of Ambonnay he farms biodynamically and makes impressive, complexchampagnes. This wine is a 50/50 PinotNoir/Chardonnay blend and has a purity of fruit and distinct saline chalkynote. It’s a big wine that will becomeeven better with a bit more time in bottle.
