A 7ha estate with vineyards spread over 100 different parcels in the fine Premier Cru of Cumières to the north of Epernay and six other villages such as Ay, Damery, and Hautvillers.

Convinced that the way forward was to produce champagnes from specific villages and terroirs, the Vadin family is now producing a separate range to the domaine’s traditional wines – fermentation and ageing occur in a mix of amphoras, cement eggs, and oak with extended period of bottle age, those are the cuvées we've chosen to work with.

Ploughing the soils and working organically has helped to produce wines with incredible purity, depth and resonance – these are seriously exciting champagnes that represent exceptional value for money.

Vadin-Plateau Wines

RENAISSANCE
Cumières 1er Cru
100% Pinot Meunier
100% Pinot Meunier (12% alc.)
(12% alc.)

A champagne made from 40yo vines in Cumières. 80% 2021 vintage with 20% of reserve wines from 2017 to 2020, it was cuve aged with malos naturally not occurring, and was neither fined nor filtered. The champagne has a fine bead (just 22 g/l sugar for the fermentation in bottle), a beautiful floral, mineral nose, excellent depth and weight of attractive red fruits on the palate. Disgorged 09/23 - Non dosé.

BOIS DES JOTS 2014
Cumières 1er Cru
100% Pinot Noir
100% Pinot Noir (12.5% alc.)
(12.5% alc.)

Only 600bts produced from 60yo vines in the 0.5ha lieu-dit of Bois des Jots – deep clay soils overlying limestone on a south-facing hillside. Here the yields average a very low 25hh which gives the wine a natural density, complexity and incredible length on the finish. Aged 70% in cement eggs, with the balance in stainless steel and old barrels, no malos, bottle-aged under cork and disgorged with zero dosage in January 2018, this champagne is pretty special and represents outstanding value for money.
