This is Gripa’s top St Péray made from vines averaging 60 years and aged 100% in new to five year old barrels and demi-muids. It has an extra dimension of richness, fine greengage and peach aromas, and retains the appellation’s characteristic freshness. For drinking now to 2025+.

Further details
Bernard Gripa
Size of domaine
12 hectares
60% Roussanne planted in 1960 and 40% Marsanne planted in 1946. 5500 bts produced. 6000 vines, 3309 rootstock, massale 100%.
A mix of argilo-calcaire and granitic soils on a granitic sub-rock. Mid-slope (but not as steep as Mauves) in the quartier of Puteurs.
32 hl/ha yield. The vines are easier to work than on the terraces of Mauves, and give wines with more natural acidity than St Joseph.
Use a pneumatic press – pressure is vital as juice can oxidise very quickly. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak (new to 5 yr old barrels). Bottled in Sep.
