Intro: M√Ęcon and Beaujolais

We had a fresh look at Beaujolais last year, concentrating on some of the up and coming younger growers. Inspired by growers like Marcel Lapierre, many of the younger generation work in as natural fashion as possible without using any sulphur. Jerome Balmet (just 1.2h) and Stephen Durieu de Lacarelle (7h), both work extremely hard in the vineyard and cellar to cut out any potential problems, with the aim of making as pure, natural wines as possible and you won't find any deviant volatile acidity or mousy aftertastes on either wine. Their wines have incredible fruit, a nice print from their granitic terroirs and with just 12% alcohol, they are just a joy to drink.
