    Organically tended vines from three parcels averaging 40yo give an exotic fruited wine - apricot, passion fruit and ripe grapefruit, with a sustained, most attractive finish. Oak has been very subtly judged (just 10% new up to 10yo barrels) and free sulphur levels of just 15mg/l are very low indeed for the Côte-d'Or. 93 points Tim Atkin. For drinking now to 2017.

    This is the first of three reds from Chevrot all of which are vinified without sulphur, which when allied to very skilled work in the vines and winemaking helps to give much purer fruited wines. Destalked 100% in 2014 and aged in oak barrels (no new up to 10yo), this wine comes from 30yo vines just outside Maranges, and gives a seductive raspberry fruit with hint of almonds. Very more-ish.     Just 0.27h of 50yo vines here, planted in a clayey topsoil with broken-up limestone beneath. Vinified with 10% whole bunches and aged in 20% new to 4yo barrels, this is a very stylish elegant wine, with spicy, floral aromas, and sappy, black fruits. 93 points Tim Atkin.     Clos Rousseau is Chevrot's largest parcel of 1er Cru at 1.5h. Here the vines are 50yo planted in whitish stony, clay soils with an eastern aspect. Aged in 25% new up to 5yo barrels, this wine has a very delicate, pale colour. It's a wine of real finesse with strawberry, red-currant and blackberry fruit that are very pure and harmonious. 93 points Tim Atkin. For drinking now to 2022.

    Sylvain's holdings totalling 8.5h are largely in Saint-Aubin. The Champlot vines planted in marl soils with a south-west aspect are between 10-20yo, and aged in 20% new to 5yo barrels, give a delicious wine enjoyable in its youth with good weight of citrus fruit, mango and hazelnut on the palate, tethered by a refreshing balancing acidity.     30yo vines here facing west giving a friendly, open, mineral wine. Damien ages most of his St-Aubins in a good proportion of 30 hectolitre foudres (here 50%), as foudres preserve more CO2 and hence freshness, and consequently he can lower sulphur levels. Overall there is only 5% new oak used up to 15yo barrels. For drinking now to 2017.

    According to Damien the 60yo late ripening vines planted south-west just around the corner from Chatenière, give the most mineral of all their St-Aubin vineyards. The soils here are white marls that produce a dense, vigourous, ripe lemon, mineral driven wine that slowly unwinds to reveal its qualities. For drinking now to 2019.

    This is an excellent red from 110 year old vines in the lieu-dit of Champs Claude which lies below the Chassagne 1er cru of Morgeot. The soil here is quite rich, gravelly clay with a little sand that is well suited to pinot noir. The oak is very sensitively handled (10% new up to six year old barrels). The cool raspberry fruit has been delicately extracted, and there is an old viney framework and structure. For drinking now to 2020.

    This comes from 30 year old vines and a south-facing vineyard above St-Aubin. It is naturally slightly cooler here, and harvested late. 2013 is a fine vintage with dense, clear cut  fruit balanced by a refreshing acidity and limestone mineral flavours. For drinking now to 2019.

    At 300 metres, Vireuils is one of the highest vineyards in Meursault, facing north-east on the slope above Chevalières and Tesson. The limestone is visible in many places here, there is so little soil. Caroline produced just two 350 litre barrels from 45 year old vines. The wine has both good punch and finesse with a vibrant mineral character. For drinking now to 2020.

    Gruyaches is a very well placed lieu-dit, south of the 1er cru Charmes at the foot of the hill. The vines here are 76 years old – Fichet’s oldest parcel – and the style is always rich and opulent but with a good cut. It embodies the style that many would regard as classic Meursault.     Jean-Claude loves the perfumed wine from Prévoles, where the vines are planted right next to the urban sprawl west of Beaune, believing it to be the appellation's 's finest lieu-dit . The soil here is a deep brown with no limestone visible (just at depth), and the 25yo vines planted at 10k vines per hectare, give a very elegant wine, with a soaring perfume, mineral backbone and fine grained tannins from whole bunch fermentation.     Les Reversées is a wine from a parcel of 25 to 100yo vines planted in a soil of brown limestone with quite a lot of clay.It has a very pretty, extremely pale colour, it shows a touch of pepper and liquorice on the nose. On the palate its class is immediately apparent, it has a silky mouthfeel, and the spicy raspberry fruit has good weight and energy, and feels detailed and very harmonious. For drinking now to 2021.
