195 Riesling Altenberg de Bergbieten Grand Cru AC 2007
    Domaine Fréderic Mochel

    Grape:100% Riesling (12.5% alc, 5g/l of rs)

Mochel’s grand cru comes from vines planted high up on the hillside and closer to the rock. It has a sumptuous concentration, is bone dry with great purity of fruit, and real terroir identity. For drinking now to 2017.

Vinification: Use pneumatic press. Natural yeasts only. Maceration pelliculaire for 5-6 hrs then 20 hrs debourbage. Vinification in mix of stainless steel and old foudres, at an average temperature of 17°C and maximum 20°C. The vinifications last between 3 weeks to 4 months. Malos blocked. All wines aged in old oak foudres (which contain plaques to control temperature). Racked once. Bottled in August. Fining no. Filtration – in spring kieselghur, and then plaque at bottling (using their own equipment).
