This stylish wine comes from 30 year old sauvignon and 50 year old semillon vines planted in a gravelly, sandy soil in Portets. Vinified in barrels it offers clean, mineral and citrus fruit flavours. For drinking now to 2012.

domaine:1 hectares for Graves Blanc Grape: Semillon and Sauvignon planted single guyot. Sauvignon are clones 108 and 317, on 3309 and 101-14 rootstock. Average age 40 years with plant density of 5,200 vines per hectare. Terroir: Clay and gravel soil to a depth of 50cms and just gravel below that. Vineyard facing south-west and with a 10% gradient. Viticulture: No de-budding or green harvesting. Grass grown between rows. Oidium prevented with flowers of sulphur. Natural compost. No treatment used against pests unless authorities demand. Ploughs alternate rows in winter and spring. Manual harvest and no table de trie. Yield of 40h/h. Vinification: A prefermentive maceration for 18hours under CO2 in stainless steel is followed by fermentation at between 16-18°C for 10 days in oak barriques. Vaslin press. No malolactics. Elevage in oak fûts. (20% are new and 80% 1year old) for 8 months. Fined with bentonite (precipitates proteins). One bottling per year/vintage. Production 5,000 bottles. Press:
