    This is Gripa’s top St Péray made from vines averaging 60 years. It has an extra dimension of richness, fine greengage and peach aromas, and retains the appellation’s characteristic freshness. For drinking now to 2016+.

    Grape: 60% Roussanne planted in 1960 and 40% Marsanne planted in 1946. 5500 bts produced. 6000 vines, 3309 rootstock, massale 100%. 
    Terroir: A mix of argilo-calcaire and granitic soils on a granitic sub-rock. Mid-slope (but not as steep as Mauves) in the quartier of Puteurs. 
    Viticulture: 32 hl/ha yield. The vines are easier to work than on the terraces of Mauves, and give wines with more natural acidity than St Joseph. 
    Vinification: Use a pneumatic press – pressure is vital as juice can oxidise very quickly. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak (new to 5 yr old barrels). Bottled in Sep.
