    Very low yields (30 hectos per hectare) provide the base for this quality oak-aged viognier with a characteristic apricoty, peachy stamp. For drinking now to 2011.

    Location: Rieux, Minervois, 30km east of Carcasonne in southern France, 40km from the Med.

    Grape: Viognier – 15 yr old vines 
    Terroir: Clay and limestone with rounded river pebbles and vineyards lying on ancient river terrace of the Aude. 
    Viticulture: Soil is ploughed between rows – hields are only 30 hectos per hectare. Mechanical harvest. 
    Vinification: 50% cuve, and 50% new demi-muid aged. Not acidified. Leaves lots of gas during elevage. Bottled in April after regular batonnage.
